Forward the Movement!

Well, since the last posting about getting serious, we have had a wave of support. It appears El Bandolero is not the only one who feels it’s time to get serious, time to be heard, time for REAL CHANGE rather than the hollow promise of a recently installed executive administration. Bandolero is not the only one who has noticed that Sr. Obama is giving us a humungously amplified dose of the same-ol’ same-ol’, not the change he promised during the campaign. Has there been any change? Of course not. Is he going to change anything? Of course not, other than change for the worse.

It was encouraging and surprising to see some media pundits suggesting that the government ought to suspend or cut employment taxes. This would immediately stimulate the economy.

We’ve been hearing for years, decades, about the crisis confronting Social Security. They ought to take a bunch of that trillion dollars and put it there. This, too, would stimulate the economy, if you think it through.

But, the Obama administration as well as Congress has made itself intoxicated with the opportunity to blow up an economic “crisis” and use it as an excuse to do the SAME OLD THING the government knows how to do – SPEND OUR MONEY.

It’s downright revolting. It’s time to respond in kind, using the tools conferred upon us as citizens by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Time to Get Serious

From previous postings you might think El Bandolero to be some sort of clown or even weirdo. Well, you might be right. But, there is a serious side, as well, and the time has come to let it be known. Because, it is time for revolution!

The country’s founding fathers are surely rolling in their graves. I wish we could let them out. Maybe then the people in Washington, D.C. would listen to them. They seem unable or unwilling to “listen” to their words on paper. If they were alive today, they would be calling for another revolution. The government is completely broken. It is so ironic that our representatives tell you this and promise change, in order to get elected and, once elected, proceed to break it further. It happens election after election after election and the citizens do not learn. How did we get so stupid?

In a democracy it is the duty of the citizenry to elect people who will go to the seat of government and act on our behalf and in our best interests. This stopped happening long ago. Oh, they occasionally do something and convince us it’s a good thing, whether it is or not. But, in fact, they now go to the seat of government to act first and foremost in their own behalf. If there was any job Bandolero would wish to have right now, it would be one of their jobs! It isn’t just the great paycheck, but the fringe benefits! These folks are set for life with excellent medical coverage and retirement income!

Meanwhile, to protect their own interests, they covet the support not of those who cast the ballots, but of the powerful interests who provide the money and influence to swing elections.

Given that our elected representatives in government are not representing us, and given that we pay more and more taxes to this government, El Bandolero says, we have become subject to taxation without representation. This was one of the reasons our founding fathers chose revolution. They were brave enough to fight for their rights and their principles. Sadly, we are not.

El Bandolero now steps forward to take up the banner of freedom and democracy. He will wave it in your faces until you see it is time for you to step forward, as well. It is time for change, but not the change promised by Sr. Obama, because his change does not change the real problem. There will be no change in Washington, D.C. until the government is populated by representatives who truly represent us, not themselves and their backers.

This will be a peaceful revolution. If the situation is not fixed soon, the time will come when peaceful means will not be sufficient, and it will be too late. Presently, however, the means are still within our grasp to effect revolution by force of law, not force of arms; but only if citizens are willing to step forward and put their names on the line. For the past several years, it has been wise to keep low, stay below the radar, not draw attention. But, this will only result in the continued degradation of the vision and principles of our founding fathers, beyond salvation. It is time to be heard, in numbers so great that the voices cannot be silenced by harassment, intimidation, and bogus prosecution; nor by excommunication.

Stay silent and be subjugated beyond redemption. This is not acceptable to El Bandolero, who now steps forward to be heard!
